Our Client's Requirement

3 dynamic, senior real estate hires

Our Strategy

Sourcing candidates from places other than key competitors

The Outcome

Key hires made across the debt and equity businesses

Context:

Our client is one of the leading institutional investors in the UK real estate market. Following a change in leadership, they have restructured the team, creating several new roles over the course of 18 months, and are looking to change the culture and market perception of their business, becoming more dynamic and more able to drive value. They asked us to support them in hiring a Head of Transactions, Head of Asset Management, and co-Head of Development.

Strategy:

Rather than solely looking at candidates in similar roles at competitors, we focused in on the key competencies required for each role. The unifying theme was change management and leadership – each of these positions came with a team to manage and the mandate to drive change in the way that the business does things. The best way to identify this was through referencing, and for each hire we verified that they were responsible for the shifts in strategy at their previous companies.

Outcome:

We have placed four senior executives, having also supported the client on growing their real estate debt capability. Our client has made substantial progress in rebalancing the portfolio, reworking processes, and growing the capabilities of the acquisitions, asset management and development teams.

'I’m very pleased with the outcome. He will be a great addition to the team, I’m highly confident on this.’
